55 Miles today 2286 Total miles
Our last day. The wind was favorable today. The ride over the seven mile bridge was one of the prettiest rides of the whole trip. The bridge is long and took us about 45 minutes to ride it. The view is worth the ride.
We had a lot of road construction and often both sides of the road were torn up. It was not bicycle friendly.
It was a very hot day and took us longer than we would have liked.
We ate lunch at another of our favorite places, Mangrove Mama's. It is mile marker 20 and a great place to eat.
We made it to the Southernmost Point around 2:00 and there were lots of people in line to get their pictures taken so we got in line.
Key West was packed due to Powerboat races going on and it is a busy time of the year.
We stayed at our favorite place to stay, The Pilot House, and ate dinner at our favorite restaurant, Blue Heaven, to celebrate.
We spent Friday relaxing and walking around until we caught the ferry from Key West to Fort Myers, where our son, Jason and his family, brought our car to us.
The ferry ride was very rough and they handed out lots of barf bags. We had prepared with Dramamine ahead of time so we were good.
We got home at 1:15 am and we were greeted by two very happy doggies.
It is good to be home.
