We walked down to the beach and snapped a few pictures. We could not keep Gumby out of the water....pictures below. Thanks for all your prayers and support.
This was a scheduled rest day and it's good it is due to the weather. We have a cold front colliding with the remnants of Karen creating a wild northeastern storm. Winds are (according to the weather channel) 27 mph gusting to 35mph. It is hard to walk much less ride a bike. It is too stay like this until Thursday and Friday is a little iffy. It is not safe to ride so to stay on schedule we will rent a van and drive to the Outer Banks and stay there as scheduled for Wed and Thurs. We are hoping we can ride Friday and if not, we will have to scramble again. Flexibility is the key and safety first. It is disappointing as the next two days ride would have been awesome with a ferry ride included. But....there is no way we will ride in this mess.

I have requested that Family Services open an investigation due to reckless endangerment to Gumby. You have put him directly in harms way and all for the sake of your photograph. I'm sorry to have to do this, but you really have thoughtlessly subjected him to almost sure injury. I'm sure you will be contacted as soon as you get home to answerto these charges!

This sure brings back some memories. When I think of the many times we have walked on that stretch of beach, the views of the bay ,the ships, all of it. The pictures also remind me of the kind of day the decision was made to make the move to Fl. Wishing and praying you have continued success and progress on your trip............Stay safe and love you...................
